One foreign worker was killed and nine injured in riots at a detention centre in Saudi Arabia, a police spokesperson said on Monday.
The police spokesperson, Ati al-Qurashi, said that illegal workers started a riot in al-Shumaisi detention centre near the western city of Jeddah.
He said that the worker was killed in a stampede.
Report says that in 2013, Saudi authorities expelled thousands of migrants, mostly from Yemen.
In November, an Ethiopian man was killed in the capital Riyadh as authorities cracked down on illegal migrant workers at the end of a seven-month amnesty for foreigners whose work permits had expired or who were not working for their official sponsor.
Saudi officials announced in late October, that 951,272 migrant workers had left the kingdom.
