Naming new born babies Messi has become a norm and in a bid to preserve the name Messi as a surname and not diluted into a first name the director of the Civil Register of the Santa Fe province, Gonzalo Carrillo, stated that no child shall be given the first name ‘Messi’ simply because, it is a last name and should be kept that way.
