I Don't Have Jonathan's Number to Wish Him Well, Amaechi Says

Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi yesterday in Port Harcourt said he does not have the telephone number of President Goodluck Jonathan.

He also slammed the Federal Government for stopping him from obtaining a World Bank loan. Governor Amaechi who spoke in a live radio programme in Port Harcourt said, if he had the President's telephone number; he would have called to sympathize with him over his sudden illness.

Governor Amaechi was reacting to a question as to whether he could send a text massage to sympathize with the President over his sudden illness in London where he had gone to attend Nigeria Investment Forum.

"I don't have his (Jonathan's) number. I learnt he was not well and I wish him well. We are meeting with the President on Sunday. I wish the meeting will hold. I don't have any personal issue with Jonathan other than the issues that concern the state. Politics is about interest. That you are our son does not mean we will support you when you don't have our interest at heart. We as a state have not benefited anything from the present administration led by President Jonathan for the past six years.

"The past FG administration did so many things for the state. They built refineries, petrol chemical companies and other projects, but the present administration has not done anything for the State. I am worried that we have not benefited much from the present FG. If we are from the South-South, do to me the way you do to others. What you are doing to others you should do it to us".
