The doctor who contracted the Ebola Virus becomes the first patient to be discharged from quarantine in Lagos, Nigeria.
The patient was discharged on Saturday, August 16, 2014 after being declared fit to return home.
Eleven other confirmed cases of Ebola are currently being quarantined in Lagos while more than 170 others are under surveillance in Lagos and Enugu.
Nigeria has recorded four deaths from the Ebola virus disease, three health workers and an ECOWAS staff. All four victims had direct contact with Liberian man, Patrick Sawyer, who brought the virus to the country.
